Case Study: Global Entertainment Company

Overview:

This case study highlights the AI Fundamentals workshop delivered by Academy Xi in partnership with the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) to a global entertainment company. The program was designed to provide participants with foundational AI knowledge, practical applications, and ethical considerations, with a particular focus on improving personal productivity and enhancing overall AI literacy.

Challenge:

Before the workshop, participants faced challenges in adopting and understanding AI, despite its rapid rise. Barriers included regulatory uncertainty, difficulty pivoting from legacy systems, and a perceived shortage of skilled talent to implement AI solutions. Many executives were concerned that without AI literacy, they would be unprepared for the future of work, particularly with research suggesting that nearly half of workforce skills could become irrelevant by 2025. Participants also reported broader fears about AI’s impact and implications.

Solution:

Academy Xi designed and delivered a comprehensive AI Fundamentals program, facilitated by Amir Ansari, to demystify AI and build practical confidence.

Key elements included:

  • Foundational Knowledge: Covering basic concepts, terminology, and AI’s possibilities and limitations to establish literacy and clarity.

  • Current Use Cases & Tools: Exploring real-world examples and practical AI tools relevant to professional and personal contexts, including those used at Academy Xi.

  • Practical Application: Hands-on exercises with AI tools, prompting practice using the CIDI (Context, Instructions, Detail, Input) framework, and brainstorming personal and organisational use cases.

Ethical Considerations: Engaging participants in discussions on privacy, intellectual property, algorithmic bias, job impacts, and AI hallucinations, reinforcing responsible innovation.

Implementation:

The workshop was delivered face-to-face across two days (17–18 July 2024). The structure combined theory with applied practice, including interactive tool demonstrations, prompting sessions, and guided discussions on AI’s personal and professional applications. Facilitator Amir Ansari was praised for being knowledgeable, engaging, and personable, creating a balanced and interactive learning environment.

Results:

The program achieved outstanding participant satisfaction. Of the 18 attendees, 15 provided feedback:

  • High engagement: 98% agreed or strongly agreed that the facilitator made the program interesting and engaging.

  • Strong recommendation: 93% reported being extremely likely to recommend the program, resulting in a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 80 — rated “Excellent.”

  • Confidence boost: Participants reported feeling “less scared of AI” and gained greater appreciation for its positive potential.

  • Practical value: Many identified immediate applications for AI in streamlining repetitive tasks, enhancing personal productivity, and supporting everyday workflows.

  • Improved prompting: Several noted the CIDI framework as particularly useful for achieving better results from AI tools.

  • Comprehensive overview: Participants described the program as a “great initial overview of AI training,” offering valuable context on where AI is now and where it is heading.

While overall feedback was overwhelmingly positive, some participants suggested allocating more time for deeper exploration of specific AI tools and expanding the ethical discussion earlier in the agenda.

Conclusion:

The AI Fundamentals workshop, delivered by Academy Xi in partnership with AIM to a global entertainment company, successfully equipped participants with essential AI literacy and practical skills. By demystifying AI, offering hands-on practice, and foregrounding ethical considerations, the program empowered participants to approach AI with curiosity, confidence, and responsibility. The exceptionally strong feedback and recommendation rate underscored the program’s value in preparing professionals to navigate the evolving digital landscape.
